SCHOLASTIC AND CO–SCHOLASTIC AREAS
The school believes in comprehensive teaching and evaluation. Hence, it not only restricts its teaching methodologies to the understanding of facts, principles and concepts; it also lays equal emphasis on the domains of art, music, dance, theatre and physical education. Through these activities self-confidence, cultural appreciation and skills of teamwork and leadership are enhanced.
SCHOLASTIC AREAS
Language
Language is a medium that allows communication to happen. Teaching languages gives the school a challenging yet exciting role. Our endeavour is to develop the minds of children so that they do not just read, write and speak, but are also able to think in a specific language. Through a holistic approach we teach listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Innovative methods are integrated with well-structured lesson plans and patterns.
Social Science
Social Science is not merely about images of social workers; it is the study of society and relationships among individuals within it. In the classroom, we encourage reading newspapers, discussing current national and international events as well as business news. Survey work for Geography and Economics, project-based learning, historical events, skits and talk shows are all used to help students find a love for social science. Visits to museums, monuments, zoos, wildlife sanctuaries and other relevant places provide first-hand experiences and help students connect concepts with real life.
Mathematics
Mathematics helps students recognize patterns, analyze information and solve problems logically. Concepts are linked to day-to-day life so that children understand “why” and not only “how”. Creative activities, lab work, projects, games and puzzles on geometry, algebra and data handling are used to remove fear of the subject and to develop confidence and accuracy.
Science
Science teaching in the middle school nurtures curiosity about the world beyond textbooks. Students engage in experiments, investigations and hands-on activities in the laboratories. Field trips, educational excursions and club activities extend learning beyond the classroom and encourage students to observe, hypothesize and infer.
IT
Computer Science, more than just computer literacy, underlies most modern innovations. The IT curriculum is designed to expose learners to safe and responsible use of technology. Students work with productivity tools, coding basics, presentations and internet research. Wi-Fi enabled labs and audio-visual aids make learning highly engaging and interactive across all subject areas.
